All the big casino's offer free shuttle bus service. You shouldn't really be taking any cabs at all while you're there unless you need to get to a specific area quickly. Usually there are a ton of people walking to and from the various casino's all very close by. Since you'll be at the MGM that's on the Macau Peninsula. I've had zero problems walking alone from MGM to the Rio which is about a ten minute walk away from most casinos.
